Embodying Regeneration

Embodying Regeneration is an international retreat designed to experience regeneration through the body, nature and meaningful connection with like-minded people engaged in education and transformation. Over three days in Catalonia, the retreat moves beyond theory to explore regeneration through movement, breath, silence, presence and direct contact with place.

What is regeneration in education and what is education in regeneration?

Who are like-minded others on this journey we can connect and co-learn with?
How do we embody regeneration?

A curated retreat with time to recharge and connect with nature & like-minded others
May 8-10, 2026
Catalonia, Spain

The focus of this retreat is on embodying regeneration within ourselves, connecting to nature and like-
minded others and implementing our embodied experiences in the regenerative education work we
do.
In the two grappling with regeneration sessions we dive into taking position, creating space, finding
resistance, let resistance work, return force, coordinate, control the flow, take a break, let go and give
in.
You leave this retreat with energy, new insights & connections!

Activities

Our program and activities are focussed on our embodied journey with regeneration, on re-aligning our
rhythms with the earth, cultivating awareness through movement & breath, building inner strength &
adaptability and fostering harmony within ourselves and our community. We connect with nature, with
ourselves and enjoy delicious locally grown regenerative food. There is ample time during the meals
and between the activities to ask questions you have on regenerative education to Bas, on putting
regeneration into action to David, or on initiating your regenerative ideas to Charles.

Bas van den Berg

Bas van den Berg is the regenerative education advocate who brings a wealth of experience with
embodying regeneration and with regenerative education. He currently serves as an associate
professor in Regenerative Leadership at the Mission Zero centre of Expertise of The Hague University
of Applied Sciences. Where he co-runs the Masters in Sustainability Transitions programme. He is
fond of novels, and publishes stories inspired by regenerative principles. He is also the co-author of
the book The Art of Regenerative Educatorship, founder and previous host of The Regeneration Lab
podcast and co-founder of the School of Regenerative Educators.

David Isern I Casanovas

With Cerdanya Viva and Institut Regeneratiu David Isern i Casanovas is on the forefront of putting
regeneration in practice in tourism, food production, leadership and education. With their family run
hospitality enterprise they incorporated a permaculture farm, serving mostly locally produce
regenerative food in their restaurant. They bring people out to their farm and into the stunning nature
that surrounds their village to embody our connection with nature and with food. Education is key in
this process and therefore David initiated Institut Regeneratiu to help others understand and embody
regeneration.

Charles van de Kerkhof

Charles van de Kerkhof is passionately curious and inquisitive about experiencing regeneration and
putting it into action. What better excuse than to bring his heroes in the regenerative movement
together on our regenerative journey to learn from and with each other. Lived-experiences are what
Charles values most, these are what connect us – in every sense of that meaning. What better excuse
to organise these gatherings through FjƤllgƄs.Agency, than to spend time with those absolute legends
who are on the forefront of embodying regeneration and to put regeneration into action.
